Five Star Senior Living

Everything is very clean, I have found that the staff who take care of the patients are excellent, my aunt does particiapte in some activities but with her Alzheimer's it's difficult, they do have some memory care activities though. She's been in good spirits when I see her and I see her quite often because it's so close. There has been some miscommunication with the business office with moving her in and some other things but they've been working with us to get it straightened out. The staff has been excellent, I'd like to keep her there if I can, if there's further miscommunication with the business then I might reconsider and keep our options open. I go in at different times of day and I always find the place to be clean and the staff is excellent, they have really exceeded expectations.

He's only been there a couple of weeks but at this point the price seems fair, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do it, I would like to see them lower though. The care seems to be good, they're very solicitous of him trying to get him to participate so I'm very pleased with that. There are activities, he right now has a lot of medical problems he's been trying to keep up on so they've been calling me about this and that and they've been calling me a lot keeping me in tune with what's going on.

Had a number of very good references from people who had friends parents stay there. Price is affordable for us. Building has some issues being older. 3 3/4 stars due to older building

Toured. Nice facility. Good room options. Good food. Not ideal location.

I think this was a very nice place. The Haven was set up beautifully for memory care. I like the short term respite care option. We will have to visit again because mom's husband doesn't seem to recall much about. For some reason he had in his mind that they didn't have memory care which isn't the case.

I was good. It was more expensive and the building was a little bit larger. I liked the smaller places.

They're willing to give difficult folks with behavioral issues a chance. They have that secure assisted living or enhanced memory care and those are the folks that we see here, behavioral disturbance folks and they're oftentimes difficult to palce. The Wellstead has been willing to consider folks who have those kidns of difficulties, typically aggression which we see here.

laurel place is excellent choice for assisted living but right now he needs a nursing home

I had already visited before but gave us a nice tour, very helpful(other places closed on wkends)and I liked the smaller community, very nice/clean but a nurse 'on call' was a?for me.

The independent cottages are very nice and the assisted living bldg.was bright and didnt feel like a 'nursing home'. Annie was very informative.

I enjoyed the tour. Jules is an excellent PR representative. I like the memory care community and especially the director.

My mother really likes it there. I only had one little thing with them and that was that my mother didn't know how to work her phone so I couldn't get ahold of her and the first time that happened it took them over an hour to get to her room and I wasn't sure what wa going on. The activities, if the people participate because the have a choice, have been very good. My mother is busy all day. They take them on trips and have a beauty parlor on site. I think it's a great place. It's bright and cheery. It's a great atmosphere.

They were okay, he was in the general population so he got the same care as everybody else but I think he needed a little more. The furnishings were lovely, the people were friendly, and there certainly weren't the same kind of care problems we're having now

I took my MOm and sister here 8/26/13 and found the rooms very nice and to my Mom's liking. We neglected to observe the music activity that most residents were involved in as it was in a different area than the tour. We will have to return for lunch and to see the activities provided in action. A nice staff!

Enjoyed the tour of the facilities. The apartments were nice but I feel that we may not be able to work around the waiting list for a 1 bedroom that would fit my mothers needs in the facility.

Everything's going well, I have a lot of private care that's involved, so value is a hard one to rate but that's the nature of the beast and that's because its an assisted lviing place and they have severe alzheimers. What they do provide though, they're very good. I've had a family member here for 4 plus years so I'm kind of a veteran at it, so I know the staff and I know how to get things done. Things are going good and thats why I placed other family members here. I did check out some others but they didn't compare to the gardens. Initially, they did enjoy some of the entertainment and saw shows and things like that and its a hit or a miss but they do what they can. The food is a 5++ star, its so much better than the other facilities. They're enjoying it also and they cater to special diet needs too.

We're moving my father there tomorrow; we've been there and we think they would take good care of my father. If he is ultimately happy there he could stay there because they have the facilities he needs. It's clean, they're friendly, it's very nice, they have everything my dad may need, and they have availabilities which is pretty important. They have all the things we were told to look for: friendly, knowledgable, all things seemed to be in place. We looked at ratings and felt that it would be the best for us especially if he needed that kind of care we wouldn't have to move him; specifically the skilled nursing he needs to be released from the hospital.

We have been happy with them so far. There are nicer places but they are also more costly. For the price that they charge we feel it is a very good choice. We are pleased with it so far and at this time would be able to recommend it to others.

Obviously the price or cost was one issue but we just thought that the facility looked ideal for my wife's mom. The rooms were nice, the meals that they provided looked like the were outstanding. It was indicated and also obvious that they keep the facility well maintained. We tried the food also and it was very good. My wife's mom likes it very much, she said she really likes it and enjoys socializing with the people who are there. Like we did, anybody that's considering that type of care, they need to look at different options and make a choice based on what they see and what will be best for them.

I don't have a lot of experience because I just went for a tour but it was right up there in the running. It was clean and the staff was very friendly. The residents seemed, if not happy, at least contented. No one was distraught or anything like that. It was our number two.
