Mother doesn’t always know us or who is doing the visiting but when we visit her in Colonial Oaks she says “You have a very nice home.” Not only is the environment clean and homelike but she’s so well cared for. Her hair and skin are lovely. I also appreciate that under pandemic conditions she is secure and they work with us on flexible visitation. Our thanks to all the staff.

Our father, who Alzheimer's, recently moved into Colonial Oaks Braeswood from Florida. Our mother has passed away and we needed to quickly find a place for him to be near us in Houston. They were immediately accommodating. Answering all of us our questions, providing a virtual tour, and above all being understanding and thoughtful throughout the process of selecting the senior home that would be the best fit for our father. We are incredibly happy and thankful we made the decision to bring him to Colonial Oaks. The staff is knowledgeable, kind, caring. They engage with our father and have made him feel at home. We have peace of mind knowing he is safe and enjoy seeing him as well as the friendly staff when we visit.

The selling staff that we have met so far are friendly, respectful, caring and kind and the entire staff seem to really care about the residents. Very impressed with the service. The rooms are great. They offered around the clock personal assistance, amenities, and activities. Such a wonderful place for the elderly that require care in a nursing home. Great and safe place, I highly recommend it.

I honestly thought this community would be just like the others, just “another” community luring you in to eat your money but they weren’t. The staff really cares about its residents and honestly made my family and I feel welcomed. I really appreciate all the staff’s helps. I would definitely recommend this community for anyone looking to feel like they’re “home”.

Colonial Oaks Braeswood has been such a huge blessing to our family. We were struggling with finding the right fit/great place for Mom (after a not great experience elsewhere), and then Colonial Oaks Braeswood was recommended to us by several people. From our first meeting, [name removed] met me with warmth, understanding and kindness, and made such a stressful and hard time easier. [Name removed] and the amazing activities director [name removed], and staff have continued to be wonderful and caring to Mom (and me!!). The staff at Colonial Oaks provides the personal, individualized attention our loved ones need to thrive. Mom has actually improved incredibly with their attention and care. We chose Colonial Oaks because of the convenient location to our house and also the apartment sizes here are a lot bigger. We were able to get almost all of his furniture that he had from his last apartment into his 1 bedroom here. They have a nurse on staff 24/7 which gives us great peace of mind. I would recommend to others looking.

We placed my husband’s stepmother in this facility. Every aspect has been so great and such a relief. The staff are caring and kind, the administration is listening, understanding and effective, and most of all my mother-in-law is happy. She loves most of the staff and they love her. The activities director offers a comprehensive set of stimulating activities that has simply made my mother-in-law come alive again. I am so grateful to Colonial Oaks Braeswood.

We were not able to tour the community due to covid. They answered all of our questions and were very informative. They were very accommodating and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

The community worked with us to qualify my loved one on some extra services. They send me photos of my loved one doing activities. It is in a nice area, with nice landscaping, and a quiet area as well.

The community smelled and looked good. They take phone calls from the family all the time. The administrator has been responsive to the families needs. Moving my mom to this community has been a great positive change for her, compared to the prior community that she was at. The staff, including the night staff has been great. The staff has all been responsive and knowledgeable. They are quick to resolve any issues that my loved one and the family have. The food is enjoyed by my loved one, and provide snacks as well. The community allows virtual visits. There are opportunities with outside visits as well. Colonial Oaks is always providing activities that my mom enjoys.

The staff was very helpful with supporting my loved one. The woman in charge was very nice. The director was very upset that the Hospice nurse didn't show up to help the family and my loved one. They made accommodations during the transition of my loved one. This made me so appreciative of them.

In the beginning it was a really tough transition, but this community has been fantastic. The executive director is just wonderful.

We absolutely loved this community, they took such good care of our loved one. We really could not of been happier and we would recommend this community to anyone. The friendliness of the staff members would be a five plus, and i thought the food was very good and the chef really worked so hard. The activities were great, and the activity coordinator was incredible. The value of this community was wonderful as well.

I really liked the community, except for right now. The visiting is only allowed Monday to Friday 10-5. They don't allow weekend visits, this is hard when a lot of us have full time jobs. There are no window visits or anything.

We were very pleased with the care my dad received here at Dorset place. I felt he was safe and secure and they were all very attentive. The daytime staff was excellent, the evening staff was a little different but they were very good with communication. I would want others to know that it really feels like home here. The setting was very comfortable and the people were all very down to earth and accepting which made his transition period was very quick. I have nothing but the upmost respect for everyone at this facility. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose them again.
