We are happy with this community.

I like that this community has independent living and assisted living residents that are able to interact with each other. They have a wide variety of social interaction. The community is beautiful and it is not overly large. The staff is accommodating and I have good communication with them. The food is great and they offer plenty of activities. I would recommend this community.

Motivating Staff !!

The nursing care team have all been excellent and loving to my loved one. My dad has improved immensely since making the move into this community. The residents where all so welcoming to him and have involved him in the various activities they do throughout the day. I would absolutely recommend this place to any family member or friend.

All in all

It's fine, we are doing okay there. There were a few issues with a few of the staff being mean. She definitely has her favorites. They do pretty good about being attentive, but she needs to always have two people with her, there have been a couple of falls. They could use some more activities. The food is supposed to be low sodium, but it tasted kind of salty. She really likes the hair dresser, that makes her happy. We chose them because of the population seeming to be a little livelier than other places, and it was clean, and bigger. They were able to help us get furniture, which I thought was very nice.

Markham House is the Best!

I coulnd't have found a better place for my Mom to spend the last part of her life. The staff there was very caring and treated Mom with the utmost of respect. They were very friendly and called her by name every time they saw her, even the dining room staff. She was definitely a person to them, not just a source of income. They were very accomodating and my Mom felt at home and safe instantly. And I (her daughter) knew I didn't have to worry about her there. I highly recomend the Markham House.

This was the second facility my sister and I visited and what a relief after having coming from Lakewood Park Manor. A very pleasant, cheery facility. There were two teenager males at the front desk who were doing their service credit hours. I spoke with James who gave me a brief tour while Carmen, the director, was finishing up with the seniors in the dining room. James had been volunteering at The Posada for 4 months and really seemed to enjoy the time he spent there. I asked him would he feel comfortable if he had a grandparent stay there and he said a definite YES! Carmen was our tour guide and she was a delight. A person who genuinely cares. The rooms at the facility were nice and I would have no problem with my mother staying there except as was the case with Emeritus I did not see any 'independent' seniors on my visit. I was encouraged to bring my mother back for a visit, which I plan to do.

mom is very happy there

We researched a lot of places like this in the area. For my mothers needs and her personality we found The Posada to be the best fit. We have had no problems and no complaints. She is very happy there. She really likes the food. One area where they could improve would be to have a few more activities. Other than that, they have really been grat.

Markham House - Lovely, Needs a Generator

We're very happy with Markham House. They do need to make an investment in a back-up power system to keep the electricity/heat running during prolonged power outages. When the power goes out, the elevator to the 2nd floor is out of commission. This is Day 3 without power at Markham House, and I am at this moment in a hotel, caring for my elderly mother.

I toured this community. The facility and staff were great. The population just seemed generally older and in need of more day to day assistance. Not quite what we were looking for as far as our loved one's needs, but still a nice place!

Wonderful and caring staff

We like the smaller scale of this community, and the just absolutely love the sales representative she is fantastic. Anytime something happens with our loved one no matter how big or smaller and no matter the time of day the staff will always give us a call right away and we really appreciate that communication. Right now with covid the activities are somewhat limited but what they do have going on is great. The staff do a great job staying on top of everything covid relation and all the regulations. They are great about keeping families up to day. The meals and dining service is always fantastic.

value for the money is great

La Posada is quite a nice community, our loved one was on the memory care side and the staff were just fantastic. Everyone we encountered were just fabulous and very attentive to our loved one. They were so kind, and even with her being on hospice and them knowing she was not going to be there for very long, they still went out of there way to get to know here. The staff had great communication with the families. Now it is a huge challenge to have a loved one in a community during covid. Nothing works and things are not easy. Sometimes things got confusing when it came to visiting hours which brought on some frustration. The management and staff did not have the best communication at times.

A great environment, friendly and helpful staff

We chose The Posada at Whittier because they offered a discount for 6 months, so the affordability. The apartment sizes here are very spacious, she was in a studio and she was able to fit all her furniture. I did eat here a couple of times and the food was very good, they are chef prepared meals and have a menu with a variety of choices. One complaint we had was their elevator went down and it was not repaired for quite some time, so people who were immobile were not able to leave their floor. Overall, I would recommend. She liked it a lot and felt very safe here.

Staff is knowledgeable

I toured this facility while looking for a place for my Mother. It is a nice facility but I wasn’t too impressed by it. The staff member who gave me my tour was okay and they seemed knowledgeable. All of my questions were answered clearly. They do have a dementia unit but it is on the expensive side. I would recommend this facility to other families.

Attentive Staff!!

I have no complaints about how things are going for my father since he recently has moved into this community. The staff are great to work with and are always going out of there way to make sure he is comfortable as well as safe in his living environment. I am most impressed with the fact they send me post cards to update me on any events or special gatherings they have to keep the families involved. I would defiantly recommend it to anyone.
