They started off on the wrong foot, the disorganization with the weekend crew was obvious. I think the nurses need to be present more, checking in on her more. It looks neat and smells clean. She hasn't liked the food. They have their own lingo that was hard for me to understand because I'm not in the industry. They shouldn't use technical jargon with the families and patients.

They seemed to take care of them while he was there. When they sent him to the hospital they sent him with a wheelchair that didn't have any place for his feet, and he was sliding out of his wheelchair.

The therapy team consists of great people! I am not crazy about the housekeeping. The nurses are short staffed. The meals are cold and tasteless. The communication has not been good. When you raise a concern or when you press the call light, I hear there is a least an 8-minute wait to get help.

This was an awful experience, the care just wasn't that good. They were supposed to be watching my loved one who had a paralyzed leg. They watched him fall out of his chair, and then didn't know that he broke his ankle until two days later. Nobody checked it for two days! They were not good at all.

My first visit was several days after mom became a residence I found nothing about the place I liked. We had to walk considerable distance to get to room. Wait way too long on-call button she has bladder problem), food tasteless. meds not always on time, too much visiting at aides station, lack of caring and loving environment, wastebasket not emptied for several days, crumbs on floor, many of the people in her dining area are not able to carry on conversations wheras she can - its her body giving away. Many tears she has shed Looking to the future with hope of better times.

I would rate the Benedictine Living Community (BLC) a 1 out of the 5. While some of the staff were excellent, the bad ones were totally uncaring of my Mom's needs. The food service is poor at best since the multifloor facility has dining rooms on each floors but a central kitchen in the basement. The food was always cold and the quality of the foods was mediocre. We finally had to move Mom to another facility. BLC charged for two full months after vacating the facility even though we vacated the room in a day if necessary to avoid rolling over into another month. They also nickel and dimed for every service my Mom needed. The facility we moved Mom to, had twice the staffing, provided exceptional care and cost much less for more services.

Constant and ridiculous leadership changes. Not following regulation based on my understanding . Staffing is terrible. Too many residents for nurses and aides. Execs seem money and power hungry. Certainly not Christian like.

My huband was admitted for aftercare and rehab over 1 year ago. [date removed]. He was treated poorly, by Dr, some if the staff and is still recovering from the wounds inflicted by them. Some of the staff would bang his feet in the foot boards and caused sores. His stay was [dates removed]. The day I pulled him out was the day the Dr said he needed to see 3 specialists but couldn’t say when that would happen when he arrived back at the hospital, he had 4 different bacteria present on a pressure wound that actually got worse during his stay. Many if the nurses were caring and did a good job, however some like the wound nurse not so much! The Physical Therapy was excellent and actually train us on using a pivot lift that we could use at home. Food was a 3 out of ten, cleanliness same, response to a call was poor, some would come in 10-15 minutes, turn off light and then say they would return shortly. He was left in bed some nights from 7 pm- 11 am next day. His sepsis paralyzed him.

Poor staff training and lack of qualified staff. Poorly run, very poor communication. aging in place doesn't happen as they said it would for my family member. I witnessed RA leaving the memory care unattended. no accountability in this facility.

My mom was neglected, soiled and wet herself after pushing call button 75 times! The staff are uncaring, uneducated, lack empathy.. These people treated her with disrespect, and down right cruel verbiage. I cannot stress enough to seek another facility. There is little to no compassion with the people they hire. Disgusting!

They don't care about the patient. They don't respond to the call lights. The ones during the day are really friendly, but the night ones are not. They don't give names or knock on the door. They don't pick up the trash at the rooms.

It is to the point now My grandma is having to wear a camera so we can find out what's going on and take the action we need to so she isn't mistreated. My grandmother moved here recently and the office staff and facility seem nice however the staff who cares for them is not so nice behind the scenes. They don't speak English which in itself isn't an issue but it makes it very difficult to communicate to assit my grandma with her needs. One particular person [name removed] is extremely hard for my grandma to deal with. She refused to wash my grandma's urine filled sheets because she had 3 sets and told her she needed more than that so she would have a set to put on. It got to the point they were yelling and another staff member had to step in. Completely unprofessional. How about they just run a load of laundry for an hour so she has what she needs?? They also left urine filled pads hanging up for days instead of cleaning them since cleaning isn't done until Saturdays they said to us. Over the holiday they didnt have staff to help her and didn't notify us. They come into her room early and barge in unannounced in the mornings even after we made a sign saying not to and it startles her. They don't treat her with dignity or act like it is her home. We are dreading having to move her again but if they don't do something about this one very terrible staff member inparticular im not sure what to do...

We did not have a good experience with BLC. Finding the right residential care home for a loved one is a big decision and as we found out unfortunately the hard way BLC was the wrong choice for my mom. They were not able to care for my mom and her needs, she did not get the level of care she needed to be comfortable or to feel safe. We had a lot of communication problems with the staff and my mom often missed her medical appointments. We paid a lot of money to have her kicked out in the end.
