Avalon Memory Care

Avalon was wonderful. I would award them a 5 on all counts except activities. The residents at my husband's facility were incapable of activities. My husband died during Covid. The staff was wonderful, and I am thankful for Avalon.

The staff truly loves each of the individual residents here at this facility. The housekeeping keeps the floors and other areas, including the bedrooms, spotless. I have never tasted any of the meals, but my mother said they were very good. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place for their mother or father that has Dementia.

I am extremely happy to have moved her to Avalon. When I visit the residents are well cared for and for the most engaged. I would recommend to others.

They could use, a little improvement on the range of activities. Otherwise, everything is excellent. We picked this community, because of the price, location, and overall good impression.

The staff at Avalon are true blessings. We drop in at random times throughout the work to see our father and he is always up, showered, dressed and around the other residents watching TV. Their center is clean and well-cared for. This is an amazing place!!

If I were you, I'd go ahead and move your love done if they're not doing very well at home. My loved one is doing 100 percent better at Avalon Memory Care. They got her up to where she can stand on her own now. And she's a lot more alert. She's eating now, and before she wasn't hardly eating anything. She's' doing so much better.

The cleanliness of the community stood out to us right away and we love just how friendly the staff members are and how helpful they are. Based on our experience we would recommend Avalon Memory Care to other families.

I never knew such a facility existed. My cousin had profound physical needs and also needed memory care. The place was Much better than a nursing home for him. He died in November By the way but he was settling in nicely. He was not ambulatory but they still were able to move him around and keep him part of the "action" at the place. He was very afraid of being ignored and left alone but they just didn't let that happen. They were very kind. I would tell anyone to choose their group home approach over a nursing home any day.

Sometimes they were shorthanded so they had to go with easy breakfasts like cold cereal and getting everyone up took a little longer but overall I was very happy with everything .

We really like the smaller size of Avalon - can only have 25 residents max. The community is extremely clean and there are no fowl odors anywhere. Avalon really has that homey and peaceful atmosphere to it. They have gone above and beyond our expectations. They have plenty of different activities going on and our loved one specifically enjoyed going to the hair solon. The patients rooms are not referred to as "the patients rooms," but they are referred to as suites - so it is far above the normal cut. They have taken such great care of our loved one it is meeting all of our wildest expectations. We have recommend Avalon Memory Care to other families and we will absolutely continue to do so.

I was impressed with the lower residents to staff ratio. The community was very easy to work with while moving my loved one in, and my loved one's items out after their passing. My loved one really thought the staff were loving while they were here. The food was enjoyed by my loved one. There were three meals a day served and snacks to the residents. The staff took in to account on how they approached the residents due to the time of the day. The night and day staff were very responsive to the family's questions. The community was very straightforward with what they could provide for us, and the paperwork was easy to complete.

Avalon Memory Care provided good care for my Dad. The hospice nurse was excellent. The admitting staff was very efficient, even with COVID-19.

I decided on Avalon Memory Care for my husband because I needed a facility in a short period of time. They had availability quickly and were able to accept him. I found that it was a quaint, small facility. They only had maybe 30 or 40 residents. It was very homey type of place. I was relived to have a place to have my husband. I would recommend them to other families.

Friendly, caring staff. Keep a lose eye on your loved ones. I went to deliver a more comfortable bed to my Aunt and the one that was there was dripping wet with urine with only a pee pad over the wet spot. When I took the mattress off it literally dribbled urine all over the floor. Just pay attention to detail.

Avalon Memory Care is probably the best place I've ever spoken with and had my husband live at. I felt like he was getting the care he required and I didn't worry about his wellbeing, cleanliness or anything. They keep him showered, and that didn't happen at the other place where I had a bad experience.

We selected them for the price and the friendliness of the staff.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The window next to the front door, has the owner's name on it and this was impressive to me. This is a smaller community with approximately 30 beds for residents. I feel that the staff was able to manage and get to know the residents more here. The staff communication was good with the family if we had questions or concerns.

I really liked Avalon Tuckerton. It seemed very homey and very nurturing. After all of our touring, we had several great options, so location ended up being the determining factor.

We had a great tour experience with Avalon Memory Care of Tuckerton. The staff were nice and informative but I did not get that feeling I was looking for when walking in. It was just not the right fit for us.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones that need memory care. My loved one hasn't fallen since being here, and this is a big improvement from the prior community my loved one was at. The staff are very responsive with answers to the family's questions or concerns. The community likes to keep the residents engaged with activities and socializing with other residents here.
