The facility is located in a wooded park-like setting with a nice creek running beside it. Also, it is in the middle of a major shopping and restaurant zone as well. My parents seem to really like it there.

I have nothing but harsh words about Truewood. From care, to cleanliness, to quality of food it was AWFUL. A terrible experience for my loved one. My family wondered how they even have a licence??? Long story short.... i would not board my dog there.

I have quite a few bones to pick. First of all, they never do any activity with the residence in memory care they are constantly plopped in front of the TV when I go visit my love one, and on top of that, you walk in and see the CNA sitting down on their phones while you have residence asleep flopping over, watching TV. The fact that the CNA‘s in there does not speak English.( there is nothing wrong with that.) but if we can’t communicate about my loved ones care , how is my love One who has dementia supposed to communicate with them I had to wait 20 minutes just to communicate through a phone app. I still made know progress communicating with the aid . We will be pulling my Love one out soon .As we have already started to look for a facility that can accommodate our needs and wants for our Loved one .

We will be moving my loved one out to find another facility. They worked with house doctors and with my loved one in memory care, it seemed like their objective was to get my loved one totally sedated and zonked out to make it easier for them to handle. My wife had concerns about bruises on one of the residents, and then they didn't like that and they accused my wife of pulling my loved ones hair and then wouldn't allow my wife on the property. When calling the resident, the phone at the facility has terrible reception and we are not able to hear my loved one at all.

Do NOT take your family member to this place. My mom spent [fee removed] dollars for an assessment on my dad who had Alzheimer’s. They assured us he was a good fit and would accept him. Two days after we moved him in, we were told that he was sent to another facility as they could not handle him and he would need to be medicated before they could take him back. They said that they would take him back but my mom had to pay them for the entire month first, which she did. In the end they didn’t take him back and he was in their care for less than a week. They took over [fee removed] dollars from my mom and will not return any of the money. This place is cheaper than most out there, but it is for a reason. I also just found out that after my dad was moved in, they persuaded my mom that she had to sign an arbitration agreement. They took advantage of a an elderly lady that did not know what she was doing.

We had a terrible experience at Canyon Creek. We tried working with them for 8 months and finally rescued our mother and put her in an excellent Memory Care unit where she receives kind, competent care and we have peace of mind. While many of the CNA's tried, the unit was understaffed and the employees not well trained to deal with the issues of those in memory care. The turnover was especially high. Our mother's entrance into memory care was traumatic and very poorly handled. We had to constantly check to see if our mother received her medications, was showered, was wearing her Depends. Sometimes her needs were met. Often they were not. She was left to lie in bed most of the time. Her room was dirty, the shared bathroom disgusting and not cleaned even when requested. The final straw was a fall with extensive bruising which was not reported. There are much better facilities. Keep looking!

I am compelled to let others know the complete incompetence we have experienced in dealing with this facility. My father has been residing here for about a month and a half. Within the first 2 weeks, the facility sent a text telling family members to come pick up our father because they couldn't handle normal Alzheimer's behaviors. My father was attempting to break out of the window in his room and later figured out how to trigger the door to unlock of their secure facility. They offered zero assistance in finding a new facility. It is a difficult decision to place your parent in a home and I think it's important that other's know our experience to avoid problems like we've experienced. This is even more complicated with the pandemic and need for COVID testing.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE. this place used to be great. such caring nurses and such good care. The care went downhill last fall. they updated the look of the place so it looks wonderful, but the food is awful, mix ups on meds, neglect, and more. i was promised a refund on care as my dad did not receive any. however, i keep getting billed over and over. the staff used to be wonderful, but they all walked out and they cannot keep good people there. they are way understaffed and the new ones do not know what they are doing, nor do they care.

Stay away from this place. Honestly, I don't recommend it to anyone. My loved one was there at the Wentworth for five months. At first the administration is really nice to you and they tell you and convince you that your loved one will be treated well as a member of their family. Well, this wasn't the case. Our loved one was mistreated. We used to find her crying and we would wonder what happened but they would tell us all the time that she didn't want to cooperate and that she was difficult. Although we never had any behavior issues with her in the past at first we tried to talk to our loved one about how she should behave and explained to her their guidelines. I used to visit my loved one every day. I spent 1-2 hours each day at the Wentworth and the things I saw was not acceptable. They are under staffed and the residents don't have the care they are promised. The people who work there try to do their job the best way they can. On the other hand there other people there that if they decide they don't like your loved one, they will not help them at all or they would find any excuse not to help them. My loved one had been recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's and during the time she was at the Wentworth she was still able to do things on her own and was able to communicate. As time went by she declined a little and became incontinent. The CNA's started to complain about it. This was all new to us dealing with Alzheimer's and the stages that she was moving into. The Wentworth made it seem that her symptoms were not part of her disease. We even started to feel bad to the point that we had to clean the bathroom ourselves when our loved one had an accident. Teresa, one of the CNAs was horrible to our loved one and mistreated her numerous times and I saw her many times being rude to other residents there as well. Our loved one was moved to memory care without our consent or without letting us know of their decision. No one was in town to find out why she was being moved, the administration (Betty Anne) just called us and told us they were moving her to the memory care unit, The Stratford. They told us that at the assisted living they couldn't handle incontinence. While our loved one was in memory care she was very unhappy. During the summer it was 85 degrees inside the facility. I complaint to Mike (new director) but he didn't do anything about it. The rooms were dirty all the time with feces on the floor and toilet seat. Again we had to do the cleaning. The CNA's there were mean to our loved one except for a couple, like Judy, she was the only one who cared. Karina was so mean and heartless to my loved one. I don't know what she's working in that field. If you're wondering why we lasted seven months there, it's because we were on the waiting list on another facilities and were just waiting. BEWARE!! Don't take your loved one there. It's a HORRIBLE place!
