The move in process was excellent and they were very helpful with that. Common areas were spotless. They were to come and clean rooms, but were not timely or as expected. And it was not done that great. Communication was not very good at all. I would have expected better communication from the office and the staff. As for the food, my dad always said too much rice and chicken was being served. Other than that, my parents said it was okay. I don't know if the staff was real pca, there was a problem with my mom and it was not caught or reported to me. A PT said that I should come in and take her to hospital. I think value was so-so, but it was a newer place. If there was a nurse on site and pca people with good communication, it may not be a bad place.

The building is nice and is clean, however when maintenance is needed it takes weeks to get resolved. The food is sometimes good, but many times unsatisfactory. They are understaffed. My dad was having to take a shower at 7:30 at night when he is tired and getting ready for bed. Not a good time. They are fairly new and are just beginning to fill up to the point where they are breaking even financially. The nurse quit last month which makes us very uncomfortable right now.

It was the ONLY place with wheelchair accessibility (toll -in shower, roll- under sinks, roll-in in-unit laundry, roll-in closet. f you use a wheelchair full time, there are very few options for truly, fully accessible housing, unless you decide to build. We did not have the time or inclination to do so, so we found the ONE place in this area that has (3 of 120 apartments) that are mostly accessible. Even so, we had to pay extra to customize so that closets are reachable, etc. But if you're in a desperate situation like we were, it's been tolerable. Some of the staff are wonderful. The new chef & dining service is excellent. Be prepared to pay more than advertised for services they say are included (the Wi-Fi and cable are subpar, intermittent) Some people pay for storage unit; some get it free. Location is exceptional

The friendliness of the administrative staff is a 5, and a few months ago the quality of care was a 2 but now it is a 5. I brought my husband as this place was just opening. It was rough with the Accounting guy and the nurse. The 2nd nurse was very difficult to access, the current business manager and nurse are friendly and great allies. All Admin now are very capable and caring! The staff at first was amazing but as they got busy the help got worse; sleeping, lots of time on phone and socializing loudly with each other neglecting clients. Now there is an expert for nursing and staff improvement. Activities spend time in Memory care bringing music, activities, snack, and some one on one time. The food started off great, fresh sautéed veggies with herbs, very balanced. The cook is a prideful hot head who ignores 60% of requests. Meals are very starch heavy and over salted. Many meals are served on Styrofoam. Broadwell has been thru some rough patches but it was still a good move to bring him up here.

What we like the most about the Broadwell Senior Living community is the friendliness of the staff. Where we think they could improve on would be having more attentiveness to the residents and their needs.

Beautiful facility with some nice perks. Feels very snooty Edina, though. Have a "concierge" at front desk versus a "receptionist". Not worth the upcharge to be in Edina when better options were available more affordably.

This is a very new community and they are trying to still get onboard. The internal communication with the staff could use improvement. The staff communication with the family was not good, as there were delayed responses to communication or requests from the family. There are three meals a day served to the residents. Some of the care offered includes medication management, dressing, bathing assistance, and hygiene care. It appeared the community could use more staff and training to assist with the care of the residents.

The staff could be better at improving their communication with us and do better and keeping us up to date with what is going on. Also since we have been there they have had quite a few staff members leave so they are experience some turnover

What we have noticed is that the staff is not transparent. They say will get back to you and they do not, we have to fight to find out what is going on.

The food is delivered to my loved one is Styrofoam containers and it arrives cold, so my loved one doesn't care for the food. They do have an alternative menu for the residents to order off of, in case they don't like what is being served. There is a staff member that my loved one really enjoys to work with. There is also a woman who was cleaning during my visit to see my loved one and this staff member was very bubbly and helpful. I think this is a good place overall. My loved one is receiving some physical therapy, medication management, bathing assistance and more as some of the care types available.

I am really disappointed in the lack of engaging activities that are mentally stimulating. I tried really hard to find a place that had a good chef. This chef was replaced after a short period and the quality of food declined. The dining room is constantly being shut down over and over. They seem to send out sandwiches a lot. It was covid and then flu but you cut out dining for all residents. The residents seem to be very shut in. It's now very secluded and harmful to their mental state. They were not communicating to residents during some sprinkler system issues, so my loved one had no idea if she needed to rush outside due to a fire when it was actually a sprinkler system but she heard the fire alarm. No one was there to tell her otherwise. For what we pay, I would expect the care to be top notch. That is just not the case here.

The common areas are very clean but I do feel like my loved ones area could be cleaner than what it is. Some of the workers are more experienced and some of them are new there are just certain things that need to still be smoothed out in the community. The meals are excellent and they just hired an activity director and things are getting started up now with the director.

This is in/near the Drexel shopping area and is a very busy place. While its not far, I think we have some good options that are much closer. I do not want to schedule a tour at this time and have emailed [name removed] that information. This is not really a rating as I have not toured the facility.
