Sunrise Senior Living

The Fairfax is a lovely continuing care community located in a beautiful area near Fort Belvoir, VA. We were warmly welcomed by the Director of Sales. She gave us a very nice tour & answered all our questions. The grounds are beautiful & very well kept. There’s a picturesque lake & pond on the grounds with a view from many apartments. We highly recommend you include The Fairfax on your “must see” list when looking for a continuing care community!

We recently took a tour of Sunrise at Holladay and had a wonderful experience. [name removed] was our guide and she showed us all around the facility, told us about activities provided to the residents, showed us several different room options, discussed pricing, and introduced us to some of the residents so we could talk with them about how happy they were with the services provided. She was FABULOUS!!!!!!!

Overall... 5/5 in all categories. They really were fantastic, so kind and understanding. Always available. My dad was in the memory care unit and the residents are always being engaged and the activities are different every day. Food was made to each resident and their preferences were always taken into consideration. The facility was so clean.

We were looking for assisted living options for my mom. We’re new to the process and they took their time answering all of our questions and going above and beyond to help us. The facility is very nice, well kept, clean, and everyone seems quite nice. We’ve decided to wait a little longer to make this move, but we know who we’re going to go talk to when the time comes!

The visit was very pleasant. My brother and I did decide on a different facility as it was closer to my brother and the price was lower. There was also a price lock so the price would not go up while my mother would be living there.

A comfortable place to stay and everyone was so accommodating and friendly. I would be so happy to have my loved one to be there.

My biggest issue is my loved one's confusion. She gets real nasty with me, and it hurts, but I have to remind myself she doesn't mean what she says. She forgets to push her button for help. As a result, she has had several falls. This isn't a reflection of the facility's care. I wish they would put her on a toileting schedule. She's frequently incontinent, and if they checked on her regularly, she may have fewer episodes. The place is clean, and they keep her room clean and make her bed daily. She hasn't participated in many activities, but they do a good job including residents who want to participate. I haven't had any formal concerns with the care she's received.

[name removed] was wonderful and [name removed]. Mom is thriving there for the Road Home Program and required a one month ext. The care is very good, and the activity coordinators are excellent as well. Yes, we would recommend Sunrise of Plainview to other families

If I could give a "6" for #7, Activities, I would because I have always been astonished by the sheer number and variety of activities. My elderly sister stayed 7 months at Sunrise for rehab after she sustained multiple injuries in a serious fall. That she was able to leave Sunrise at all was due to the professionalism of the nursing staff and the associated therapists. Now moving my sister back to her home, I went down the Sunrise elevator for the last time and, as usual, I marveled at the extent and variety of the food and activity options that are posted there. If your loved one needs the supervised care of assisted living and you are considering Sunrise, here is my opinion: Just say yes.

moving my mother in to Brighton Gardens this week. Quality and tenure of staff was the deciding factor for us over other options.

The staff is warm and caring as are the surroundings. The General Manager is very involved in day to day operations and has always been responsive to our needs. The building is clean. There are numerous activities. It's been a very positive experience for my mom.

I moved my mom into Sunrise about two years ago which was the best decision I could have made. The entire staff is great and very helpful and friendly. At first, my mom was very reluctant to live there but within a short time she had adjusted well and was happy once again. The community is warm and welcoming, making it easy to meet new friends and feel at home. There are plenty of activities, social events, and opportunities to stay active and engaged, so there's always something enjoyable to do. The apartments are clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and it's reassuring to know that help is available whenever it's needed. I also appreciate the delicious meals and the sense of security that I know my mom is receiving. I highly recommend Sunrise for anyone looking to put their loved one in a senior facility. The staff treats everyone like a family, and I am sure they will love it once they get adjusted!

My mom has only been there for about 2 1/2 months. I don't have anything negative to say about Sunrise of Cresskill. The room my Mom is in is the perfect size for her. The staff has been wonderful - attentive, caring, pleasant, patient. The facility is spotless. The food is good and options are given at each meal. I'm not very familiar with the activities but I do receive pictures when my Mom participates in them.

Everything is a 5 and above. I only wish it was more affordable. The place is beautiful and the staff are absolutely wonderful. Definitely one of the best! Yes, we would 100 percent recommend Brighton Gardens to other families. It is truly a loving and caring place. I can finally rest easy knowing that my dad is in the best place!

The facilities are modern, clean and well designed. Apartments are comfortably sized. The staff is kind and helpful. The food is good and more than adequate but I wouldn't say fantastic. Activities are engaging and appreciated. There are sometimes small lapses such as laundry day delays, broken A/C in certain areas or a faulty elevator call button. But issues are communicated and addressed.

Lakewood Estates has everything that an independent senior could ever need. Meals, laundry, house cleaning and so many activities. There are shuttles to get out and about town. There are so many active seniors in this facility! It's an older facility but it's kept clean.

The initial contact was a care pitch rather than a sales pitch. They took the information from a place for mom and considered it. They came up with options as I needed a place for Dad as well as Mom. Staff consistently friendly and helpful. Took the time to figure out the best way to communicate with Mom in memory care. I don't think any care home serves great food. It's fine and a resident can always ask for something and it will be accommodated. There is no lingering odor which you find in some places which is probably a reflection of cleanliness.

My need was emergent. They provided what we needed. I would recommend to others.
