Spring Hills

I toured this community and it was really nice. The cleanliness was great and everyone was very friendly.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a very nice tour experience but the community overall was just a little to big for our loved one

The sales lady [name removed] was absolutely great to work with in the beginning, she left us with a great first impression and she was just the best. The food there is very good which helped make our decision to send out loved one here - they have really good choices and different food combinations. Based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend them to other families.

They have a friendly staff. The community is in a good location. The care seems to be fine for my loved one. The staff are responsive to to our questions or concerns. I do wish they would be quicker to respond to fulfill our requests for our loved one. My loved one has stated the community has run out of choices for meals, even in the first feeding for the residents. The service of meals could be quicker as well, as sometimes the residents are waiting 30-45 minutes to be served the food.

Overall, we are happy with this place now that mom is settled in. Initially, mom was afraid of the single bed in her room. It's a raised bed and she was afraid of falling off of it, so she slept in the chair in her room for the first couple of weeks. I do wish they had taken more time to help her adjust and get comfortable and used to it. Thankfully, she's doing much better with it now. I just wish there would have been more follow up there. The billing is a bit confusing and unorganized. I was able to talk to someone and work through it, but still caused some confusion in the beginning. They have a very nice laundry room. Mom isn't great about using her call button to ask for help with getting to the restroom, etc. It took some time, but they are more aware of that now and are better about being proactive and checking on her more often, knowing that she won't ask for the help. They got her therapy set up and that's going well. I have to call and ask for updates, they don't usually call me. Responses aren't always timely, but I do get the answers and information that I need. The facility is a nice place and clean. Mom seems to like it overall. I would recommend them to family and friends. Just be sure to be proactive and involved in the care of your loved one as you would with any facility.

We toured several facilities before choosing Spring Hills Lake Mary for my husband's grandma. She is fairly picky about food, so the menu choices here impressed her. We were all pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food on several visits. So far Granny is enjoying the meals and getting to know the other residents, and the staff here have helped her to adjust. I have to mention [name removed] has been wonderful!

Our family had an in person tour and our loved ones really enjoy the experience - they say the rooms are much bigger then our loved ones previous community and he will be able to have his own bedroom and bathroom

I would highly recommend this community for you or your loved one. The staff communicate very well in regards to any concerns.They have activities like bingo, church services on location for all denominations and more for the residents to do to stay busy in the community. They have workouts for the residents and daily news for them to stay up to date with events and more. This community is intimate and you feel like your at home instead of a hotel feeling.

We really like the atmosphere at Spring Hills and it also gives off a good appearance. However we have had some issues with the care services here and there, we thought she would be more independent but we just have not seen the quality of live improve at all.

Spring Hills Hunters Creek is a nice facility with friendly staff. they don't do the greatest job at catering to the dietary needs of their diabetic residents. other than that, my loved one is happy here.

We really like it. They made it very easy to enroll and get Dad set up there. They've been very welcoming. All the staff are very kind, and they treat the residents as though it's their home. I have minor complaints but nothing serious - like sometimes the room isn't as clean as I want it to be. But my dad is very happy there. I thought it would be really hard for him to adjust, and it wasn't. He just loves it there.

This is a very clean community staff are very friendly and helpful. However, this community is expensive. They have activities like painting, bingo and different things everyday for the residents to do to keep busy.

There have been several changes in management, administrators, as well as caregivers. The communication with the staff to the family could be improved. It would be helpful to know who to talk to about questions or concerns, especially if staff changes.

Spring Hills of Lake Mary was a very nice facility and it seemed like they had a lot to offer. The reasons we did not choose them was because the location was too far, I read a couple of negative reviews, and I saw that if you do not go to eat in the cafeteria at a certain time you get charged extra. With my loved one having memory issues, this was a problem.

You're going to get what you ask for here. The staff is very diligent in doing their job, in getting my loved one up for the day, administering her medications, all of those things. The nurses keep up with her every day. She is well cared for and not left alone. They also keep the facility very nice and clean. My loved tells me they have activities during the day but not as much during the evening.

We would recommend this community to others

This is a new community. They don't give families a lot of great communication. The staff will let you know that your loved one will have tests done, but no one follows up with the results. I seldom get calls from the nurses.

My grandmother moved into Spring Hills a month before the CoVid19 shut down in March. She is 95 years old but still has her wits about her. The staff at Spring Hills has done their best to make the residents feel supported, even loved, when they have been so distant from their families. We are thankful. It’s hard to comment on the activities and such as she did not have time to experience many before residents had to practice social distancing. The nursing staff is very reliable and intuitive. One of her nurses has a great way with my gram, helping her understand and accept any medical changes that might be going on.

I was particularly impressed with how this facility kept their residents safe during the recent covid-19 pandemic. Some facilities in my state had outbreaks and some residents died. Not only did SHHC keep the residents safe, they kept communication open with the families by holding weekly status called and set up ways for us to Skype with our loved ones when we could not visit.
