Caregivers Who Really Care

Words can’t express my heartfelt gratitude for the care given to my 99-year-old mother. Though she was bedridden and frail the staff treated her as if she was part of their family. Not only she was shown respect but also more importantly they the time to listen to her. They made sure she was always comfortable and interacted with her to keep her involved in life. [name removed] enjoyed folding the daily laundry sitting in her room having a delightful exchange of stories, in other words they both entertained each other. While visiting I heard laughter between the caregivers as they went about their daily duties as if it seemed like it was a pleasure not a job in caring for the residents. Often times I would enter and the aroma of mouth-watering meals being made in the kitchen filled the house. My mother had quality life up to her last breath. The night my mother passed away both [name removed] and [name removed] had tears in their eyes for they too had lost a friend.

My Tour Experience

My tour at Abounding Love was not very good. They didn’t impress me whatsoever. There were 2-3 male residents and one female resident. My mom's "bedroom" would have a room off the hallway that didn’t even have a door. And I just felt very uncomfortable. The people there looked like they were miserable.

The name must be ironic, worse than jail

This is not a healthcare facility. This is not a place you want to send your loved one no matter their condition. They do not offer and are not trained to provide any of the services listed on their website and the paperwork you sign for admission clearly states they are not licensed for 24 hour care. They feed you absolute garbage(cup noodles, corn dogs, microwaved taquitos, etc). The facility is not handicap accessible(nor is the restroom) so if your loved one has a wheelchair, expect them to be bedridden and to go to the bathroom in a diaper which they’ll sit in their own feces for hours(often the whole night)Not sure if [name removed] was making a cruel joke or is just too incompetent to understand what a paraplegic is but he made multiple comments about how I was going to get “so fat they were gonna have to roll me out of there if I fit through the door” because I couldn’t get out of bed and do anything(he dropped me the only time I tried to get out of bed with his assistance).
