Engaging staff in a safe environment

The staff gets familiar with the residents and their families in a very positive way. They are very accessible and accommodating. They tried to provide a variety of activities that encourage the residents to become friends with each other rather than just each enjoying the activities independently.

Love this place!

This place is beautiful and spotless. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. My mother loves it here. The food is pretty good most of the time and if they are serving something you don’t like there are hamburgers and fries, hotdogs, or pizza you can have made to order anytime during the day. I always see the manager willing to help out wherever needed. [name removed]is awesome!

So glad we chose Cahaba Ridge

After much research we chose Cahaba Ridge six years ago as the best senior community for my in-laws as they moved from out of state to be near us. We are so glad we did. This is truly an aging-in-place facility, as it is all independent living, so no mandates to move to another level of care — you can bring in help as needed. But there is a lot of support built in, with onsite pt, a little store, salon, incredible food 24 hours a day and innovative activities, all within a very attractive environment. But the best part is the people who work here. They truly act as if it is their pleasure to serve their residents and treat them as if they are at an actual resort. A year ago, when we realized my mother-in-law might need more advanced care, we explored other nearby options. We found nothing else could compare with what she had, and so committed to bringing in additional caregivers as long as possible. We are so grateful for that option — and that she can continue to enjoy Cahaba Ridge.

Review for South Jordan View Retirement Community

This is a very friendly community. The staff does an excellent job. I would give a shout out to their activities director. She does so many fun things for the residents and truly cares for each of them. And thank you for helping me find this perfect fit for my mom. She loves it there.

Welcoming facility

We chose Sable Lodge because All the things that were included in the monthly payment, (the facilities: exercise room, theater, billiards room, lounge, dining hall, etc.) and the welcoming friendly encounters with staff and residents. Everyone greeted everyone else and made newcomers feel welcomed. Staff is VERY friendly and helpful: most caring and accommodating.

Lakeline Oaks Retirement community

I am not exaggerating when I say Lakeline Oaks deserves 5s on all the above criteria. The meals went temporarily down (to a 4 maybe) when they swapped chefs but that's been updated again and my parents are again very happy with the food. Esp as I compare this place to every other one we looked at (there were over a dozen), the value for my parent's dollar is unmatched. While I believe they are at full occupancy, I'd recommend Lakeline Oaks to anyone, especially a member of my own family.

Overall a great place to live!

The fact that the price goes up every year and being on a fixed income, the future did not look like golden years, but perhaps homeless, but I truly was happy. The food was just ok because leftovers were used as another meal with different name. Staff were all wonderful. Anything you need you just had to ask!

Capital Oaks is A1!

Capital Oaks is a beautiful facility. When you first walk in, you see the beautiful lobby. There’s a water fountain in the center with fish. The floors above have an open area and railings so you can look down or all the way up to the skylight. Past the water fountain is the dining room. They have cafeteria style serving. But they also have servers to carry the tray for those in need. The food is delicious! My sister moved here from Minneapolis after having health issues. It was a wonderful way for her to make friends. She stays very active with the daily exercise classes, book club, afternoon and evening movies and Walking group. After looking at four other facilities, Capital Oaks definitely outshines all of them!

It's like being on a permanent Cruise.

Staff is terrific, food is fantastic with choices, apartments are spacious, places always clean and orderly. A movie is showing every night. More than enough activities with importance on exercises. A beautician is available and physical therapy if ordered is available. There is nothing missing from this facility.

overall a great community, would recommend

All fives except for activities and value for cost. The activities are great but they are based on residents that are older. It would be nice to have evening events as well, Many other things residents would like to participate in are based on the South Windsor senior center which is less than 5 miles away. We are told that it's not possible to schedule an event "per corporate; using the 12 seat van assigned to this facility . These events are all close by; little theater events, simulcast events from New York, a simple hike, etc. A modification concerning this matter would be appreciated. And concerning price; we are told that our facility is at capacity. Logically this could result in price cuts for all residents, or at least a future reduction in the cost of living rent increases. Something to think about as we receive mailings from the competitors. The short answer is that many of us feel the price is too high.

Exceeded all expectations

ALL 5's!!!!!! I'm not kidding. It is seriously I would give them all tens. I cannot speak more highly of River valley. I never worry about my parents and that is a blessing. They are taking care of. They wear something around their neck that God forbid they fall they push a button and they're there within minutes. It's just amazing. The staff really care about the people that live there and everything else you listed, literally five and up.... Definitely a place that people should see for sure hundred percent the facility itself is truly amazing. Everything's amazing. And out of all the ones we looked at it was believe it or not the most reasonable to. Everything is included electricity, phone cable. Everything's included all meals three meals a day. My parents LOVE it and could not imagine living anywhere eles.. I go at least twice a week or more they welcome families unlike a bunch of others we looked at and it is soooo clean and staff is so nice as are the residents. Most know. My name just from visiting my parents. I feel like I've gained some extra parents they are so sweet... Totally recommend it to anyone!

We found a new lease on life!

We attended an information seminar and we were intrigued by the presentation and eventually became the second couple to move into Brier Pointe when it opened. We were drawn into the community by the promise of all-inclusive services to include meals, housekeeping, paid utilities, transportation services, social activities & events. We have not been disappointed at all. In fact, we've met so many new friends and my husband has received a new lease on life. He was introduced to Chinese brush painting, and this is his new passion. He has painted 45 pieces in 14 months and has even been offered up to $200 for some of his work.
