The place is stunning. It’s very clean. They're very attentive. All the staff is overly friendly The billing department is the only concern we have. You just have to be very observant about your bill. There are lots of technical mistakes. The food is amazing. They even had lobster risotto the other day. There haven't been as many activities due to Covid, but that’s getting better.

Peace of Mind

This was a good experience for us. Everyone was very helpful and they tried to be informative as possible. We took a couple of tours prior to deciding on this community. The staff were good to work with, and they are great at answering questions or addressing our concerns. The majority of the staff seem to show that this is their calling. The food seems to be very repetitive. There isn't a lot of taste to it, and there is not much appeal to it either. They are short staffed on the wait staff. The laundry, housekeeping, changing of linens, transportation is available within 10 miles, three meals a day, and the room are included in the monthly price. The community will take care of medication management, bathing, dressing, and hygiene assistance if the resident needs it and there is an additional charge for these items. There are levels of care that they will provide and this is how the pricing is calculated. The time the call button is pressed the staff are here immediately to assist the residents. There is nursing care available 24 hours a day.

highly recommend this kind community; but short staffed due to Covid

I'm very happy with Oakmont, I feel that my loved ones needs are being met aside from some moments when there may be a wait time for help. I do feel that they are safe there as the staff is very kind. With all of the positives I could say about this community, I have noticed that they are suffering from the effects of Covid. Their issues with staffing retention have effected a few different things. My loved ones health can fluctuate; there are moments they can do things on their own and other times when they may need assistance. In those moments when they do require assistance, they often have to wait a while. Prior to Covid, everything was almost perfect, but lately housekeeping has been backed up and is no longer a weekly occurrence. They're unable to keep up with their normal duties, and when they are completed they aren't done in a timely manner. I do believe that the staff are really nice because my loved one always expresses that and emphasis on how hard working they are. The one complaint from my loved one and other residents is that they can't get an itemized monthly statement from [name removed] in the billing department. She comes off very rude and bluntly tells them, "we can't do that", without any attempt of an honest explanation or reason. Because of her approach I'm sure there are some elderly residents who might feel intimidated and in turn, afraid to ask her for anything. The itemized monthly statement is important because they may want a physical breakdown of what they're paying for each month as that differs from person to person. They may also want to ensure they're getting the services they're paying for since a lot of things have been impeded as an effect of Covid. Thankfully, my loved one is vocal and is able to speak for themselves and receive what they ask for. It still concerns me because I'm sure there are plenty of other residents who aren't as alert or insistently outspoken. The activities director [name removed] is awesome! She walks around from door to door to encourage the residents to participate in activities. The activities she facilitates are great as well; they range from physical activities like volleyball, to interactive brain teasers like puzzles or bingo. She may benefit from having an assistant or some extra hands as well, but that also goes back to their staffing issues with Covid. The meals are good, but the dining aspect has been lacking because of Covid as well. They may not have as many servers, as the residents have to wait a while for their food. They've also been switched to plastic utensils and paper plates, which I'm sure was an adjustment. Overall the caregivers and activities director are amazing; and that's exactly what I was looking for in a community. They are very kind to my loved one and I do understand that a majority of my issues with Oakmont are stemming from their struggles with staffing retention due to Covid. If you have the opportunity, I would advise others to take a look at the perspective from other residents, as everyone's condition and experiences differ. I would highly recommend Oakmont; I have hopes that their Covid related issues will resolve as the world continues to reach a state of normalcy again.

Elk Grove Park - a good community

our loved one enjoys living at Elk Grove; it's all inclusive and she likes the activities and food. we do feel that they could really improve on their communication. we've called several times to notify the community that we're on the way to pick up our loved one or to relay important information from her doctor. each time we call, the receptionist will transfer us to our loved ones cottage, but the call is never answered. sometimes we are able to leave a message and other times it will ring to no end - either way our call is never returned. this concerns our family because there is always someone in the cottage, so we're not sure why the phone isn't picked up. we don't call to have casual conversation, it's always for a legitimate reason and in some cases could even be an emergency. we hope that with providing this feedback the community will find a way to improve.

feel comfortable here

I feel comfortable with the level of care provided to my loved one. the activities could use some improvement, but its important to note that the director left so they are in a gap right now. the activities have also been effected by Covid, but they are working through it. I've found that there a different variables that fit different families when looking for a community, but I'd say this one is worth a look.

A nice place

We chose Westmont of Milpitas because they were a brand new facility and also the location was very good for us. When we toured, the staff were all very professional. I knew what to look for since I had been through this experience not long ago with another family member and I was very impressed with them. Based on our experience, though it was short, I would recommend them to others.

Community Tour

We thought Ivy Park at Otay Ranch was great. It just wasn't in an ideal location for our family.

Great place for mom

My mother is not very picky at all when it comes to food and she is struggling at this community. They do have a lot of activities but they are currently on lock down due to covid. If you are going to go to a community this is one of the nicest in the areas and it is a pricey community for what you receive.

Community Tour

Oakmont of Lodi was a nice place, and our tour was fine. It just didn't fit what we were looking for. It was a very big place, big enough where it seemed like you could get lost in the shuffle. Also the apartments were not as nice as the place we ended up choosing.

Best Place for my loved one

I picked this community for my loved one because of the friendliness that I felt when I went to see the community. They have activities like educational activities to games and more for the residents to keep busy, there are about 3 activities scheduled daily.

Our new Executive Director, [name removed] really helped us to feel more like a community. She keeps us informed and is so positive and cheerful. I'm happy with the way things are done here.

A Good Option

I think if you can afford to be here, it's a good place. I felt like there were great opportunities for my parents. It just wasn't a good fit, and it had my dad worried about the price. There was a change in staff, which made things very different administratively than when they first moved in, although the day-to-day stayed relatively the same. We did have to get to know a new reception staff though. Also getting responses to things that needed to be fixed in the apartment took a long time. I thought the food was good, but my dad said there were some inconsistency issues. I thought they offered a lot of great activities.
