It worked for us. My dad was only there three weeks before he passed. But I would not feel comfortable recommending it to others.

There was nothing wrong with my tour of The Crossings at Flower Mound. The place had very few residents, there were only about 16 people at the time. They have recently taken new administration, even though the company has been in existence for quite a few years. The staff there were new and I didn't feel that they'd been there long enough to have established any longevity. Without longevity, I questioned if they would be able to demonstrate if it would work out for them there, and that the residents would experience consistency of care. With staffing being an issue in todays society, without having the ability to demonstrate how long people have worked there, is one red flag. The other red flag is them not having a lot of residents with reviews of how it is under new administration. The third red flag is that they're a little more than an hour away from me. One of the things I did like about it: I was introduced to some residents in the dining room while they were having lunch. The food seemed better here than the community we landed at. The residents were nice and articulate, they chatted with me; but the person I talked to didn't interact with the residents or speak of them with the same compassion, empathy, or passion that I found at the other community. At the other community, I met everyone; I was introduced to every person who worked there and I interacted with them. When I saw how the staff interacted with and treated the residents here, I knew that would also be my moms experience. I'm quite familiar with sales and I don't need you to "sell" me. I needed to feel how you are going to interact with my mom once she lives there. When I was there, lunch was ending and they were wheeling people into this TV room/area. The lady working there was asking for help and the person touring me just kind of ignored her. However, he was proud to tell me that the same lady was one of the singers in the Mama and Papas group. I asked her what was their next activity, but she didn't know. She showed me their calendar of events. The next activity wasn't going to be until 2:30pm, and it was 12:30pm. I asked her, "So this lady in the wheelchair is just going to sit here for two hours with nothing to do?" She didn't have an answer for me.

Our family had a tour experience and the director was very nice, friendly and gave good information but nothing really stood out about the community itself.

The community is close knit and has a cottage feel. Almost everything is brought to our loved one, this is a huge plus for us and our loved one. The community recently changed hands. We are hopeful the same consistency will continue with the new company. The food could be improved by offering pre-ordered option, or options for choices for the residents.

Our family first had a virtual tour due to the covid restrictions, but once the communities opened back up we were able to physically tour the community. Our tour experience was great, everyone was very friendly and welcomed us with open arms. However, we did notice there were not to many care takers on the floor and maybe they were short staff from the pandemic.

We chose this because I was looking for a memory care facility that was close to my house and Windhaven fit the bill. The rooms here are private, her room has a tv and bathroom and is adequate size, it is like a studio apartment without the kitchen. You do have to supply the furniture for the rooms. The meals here are chef prepared so I would assume they are good. I would recommend to others looking.

The place needs a good scrubbing of the floors and the patient room floors were nasty ! The girl running the place does not have a degree yet and is not even 21 years old. It's a big important position that needs, to be held by someone more mature and with at least a masters degree in the field. The girls that deal with the patients are wonderful.

Had you asked before the management changed about a year ago I would have given everything a 5. Now the place looks clean, but no one knows my name. Activities are minimal. [name removed] spends all his time in his room, but that's probably his choice. [name removed] wouldn't understand a move, he would scream to come home. The electric gate is often left open.

We did a virtual tour with Rose Hill. I would tell others looking just to make sure you really understand how medicaid works in your state because everything stated it not always true.

Most of the staff were nice and helpful, but maybe a little lazy. The current Director is horrible and impossible to work with and communicate with. Housekeeping was a big problem. They don't have housekeeping available on the weekends and it was pretty obvious from the filth you could see at those times. The meals seemed okay. No I would definitely not recommend this facility.

My loved one was here. It has really gone down in the last year. Nasty floors! Starting to really smell like urine. A few of the caretakers are really good and care. Otherwise the employees aren’t trained and come straight off the streets. The Director, tells everyone of all the license he holds. He doesn’t hold any from the nursing board of Arkansas or Texas. Please don’t leave your loved one here unless you have someone with eyes on them at all times. The memory care in this title is not true. They zero experience or training with dementia.

Where to begin on the HORRIFIC experience with my Dad at this facility. My Dad passed away after complications from a catastrophic stroke that he had while at this facility. My Dad was of perfect mental health, only 65 and a very happy and charismatic person. He had been a paraplegic for 40 years but was recovering from a recent surgery while at Magnolia. I received a phone call from my Dad in the very late afternoon and immediately knew something was VERY wrong. He did not know who I was and was able to mutter the words "help me." I immediately called Magnolia and told them to get to my Dads room and call 911, that I believed he had suffered a stroke. The person called me back and said that my Dad had already been back from the ER that same day. I was SHOCKED at this information. She said he had pulled out his G tube and they sent him to have it put back in and that the ER sent him back. I informed her that something was very very wrong mentally and that I had my Mom on the way there

There are good aides, a few - but left in the care of others (on their phones, or leaving residents alone in building, or engaged with each other, or just do not care) so many concerns, items lost, medications lost or expired. Management would agree - until they didn't and told us our healthcare expectations were too high and demanded equipment that we had said we would not use because of the training requirement and staff that we did not trust with this equipment. The next day after giving notice - they withheld care for my mother - YES WITHHELD CARE because we did not get the equipment there that night - no compassion, postings on website are definitely staged - if you are looking for someone you love - this is not a good place.

Windhaven Senior Living is a beautiful facility, but horribly run. Massive turnover, contract caregivers that are a revolving door. Corporate has taken over and is trying to save it.

High management turn over every few months. Staff and medtech's, and nurse all quit. Staff was often overworked and disrespected. Rooms were not move in ready. Broken door locks, broken AC for days, broken ceiling fans, phone network down every few weeks.. Apartment not cleaned regularly. Food is not what is pictured online, actually much lower grade. My parents were even served raw chicken! My Mom was bite up by ants because the room was infested with them. YOUR LOVED ONE DESERVES SO MUCH BETTER!

Do not rely on WSL for quality memory care. Only a few cares and I mean a few are capable of doing the job and they are not often in the building. They are understaffed. My mom recently passed in hospice after her dementia took a toll in conjunction with NUMEROUS falls (resulted in bruising to her head). Additionally, her neighbors family moved her to another facility. They are on their 3rd management and 3rd nurse director and not sure who the executive director is cause that changed in August. Simply said use at your own risk..
