We've had a good experience with the facility and the staff. The location is great. There's a park across the street, and lots of places nearby to go eat. The only area for improvement is it seems there has been a turnover in staff, and I don't necessarily understand why. I figure it's just hard to keep people in this line of business. They've told me they're working on it and are trying to bring in some better-quality people. Overall the care, cleanliness, activities, and facility have been wonderful. My wife has really adapted to it, which has been a pleasant surprise. She seems to be very happy there. I see a look of contentment on her that I haven't seen in a long time. They administer her meds on time every day, which removes a big burden from me. It was a hard decision to have to make, but I have no regrets.

This is my forever home. I have never been happier. Just not enough hours in the day to do it all.

The staff is friendly and courteous. They are helpful as well. The activities are good and its also a friendly community. I would recommend this community to others.

We really like that Cadence Lakewood is a smaller size community - the staff members are able to have more of that one on one time with the residents and give them more of a personal touch, even the care givers can agree. They have plenty of activities for the residents to do - different exercise classes, arts and crafts and they even make bracelets.

They have some normal staffing shortages, but it's a lovely place - clean, cheery, bright. I would highly recommend it.

I love living at Novel Place Senior Living. They are reasonable and have so many activities. The food is delicious, and the staff is amazing and so helpful.

We all had a great time at the Novel Place Oktoberfest event! The musical entertainment was amazing and authentic. It was a very successful event for all to enjoy! Such a fun day.

I am an entertainer that does presentations at Novel Place in Overland Park. I have been to many retirement communities over the past fifteen years. The impression I got when entering the front door was the elegance and beauty of the interior architecture, which continues throughout the building. A very friendly atmosphere. I have talked to residents, and they raved about how they like living there. It is also an ideal location, close to shopping and other amenities.

My mom moved to Novel Place a few months ago and we both feel blessed to have found this wonderful community. The staff at Novel Place are kind, supportive and understanding. Their warm and sincere interactions are what convinced my mom to make this milestone move. My mom lived alone for twenty plus years, so she was a bit anxious to move to this type of living situation. The staff did a fantastic job making sure she was getting connected to the other residents and learning her new environment without overwhelming her. The food, activities, and cheerful environment have been great for my mom. I can’t recommend Novel Place Senior Living enough. If you are searching for a place for yourself or a loved one I would add this place to your list.

The Cadence Lakewood has been great so far, we really like how friendly the staff members have been, they have just been great with our loved one and super patient. We would recommend this community to other families based on our experience. We do wish they could encourage our loved one to get involved more with all the different activities they have going on throughout the week.

Very happy. I would like to see iron fencing on north south and back of Novel Place to prevent people from cutting through from apartments in rear of novel. Not safe for walking residents and dog walkers.

Very good. Except sometimes the food is not very good. Sunday buffets are great. They finally added more milk to the potatoes which helped immensely. We are tired of pork loin. The pie was great - also the cookies. Ham was good. The side salad should not be put on hot plate or with that food. The green beans need help. [name removed] and the new waiters are doing very good.

Activities - abundant and fun and wonderful variety. Facility - well arranged, convenient, and well maintained. Staff - friendly, personal and helpful. Food - good, nice variety. I am so glad I am living here!

Truly enjoy living here. I try to participate in as many activities as possible. The residents here are friendly and welcoming! Your staff have all been very helpful and polite.
