Proverbial Care was responsible for my Uncle's health care for a little over a year. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They took good care of Uncle and whenever I came to visit, they were hospitable. The facility was always clean and never had an odor. Seeing that my Uncle was happy in his new home for the last days of his life was comforting during an emotional time in our lives. Thank you Proverbial Care for your hard work and care....

Need to know: 1. $[price removed] enrollment fee non refundable 2. If your person dies you are charged for the entire month and possibly the next month...unless you give them 30 days written notice. 3. For the most part the aides are friendly and do the best they can with the skills they know but I think they could be better in their skills and knowledge. 4. I know there is a ratio of workers to residents. I always felt they were short staffed. Having an extra person on hand goes a long way. 5. I was there almost 24/7. I felt like the aides weren't checking on the residents as often as they should especially the bed ridden residents. 6. I will say in our situation with my husband's illness they were very accommodating for us. They let me come and go as I pleased and I pretty much took care of him while I was there. At. Night if I wasn't there, they called me when he was having a rough time. 7. Sometimes the communication wasn't good...with shift change. I never knew what his night was like. My husband had brain cancer so I needed to know daily if anything changed...in my absence. Example...he would have a bruise on his face because he tried to get out of bed and fell. I had to ask how he got the bruise. Or he cried all night. 8. Aides were over worked and under paid. I guess you get what you pay for. Overall, if they work out some of their kinks I think it would be a great place. I would do it all over again but some things have to change. Place is super clean with not so many residents and that's why I chose to take my husband there.

My 94 year old Mother has been a resident at Proverbial for the past 2 years. One of the first things that drew me to Proverbial was the professional and friendly personality of the owner, [name removed] . We are from Louisiana and used to “Southern Hospitality.” When [name removed] and I spoke on the phone, we had an instant connection. I was vey nervous about placing my mom anywhere, but she assured me that my mom would be well cared for. While the staff has changed over time, I still find new staff members to be friendly and caring. My mom loves to talk and quickly bonds with people. Some of the young ladies say that mom reminds them of their grandmother or aunt so, I know they will take special care of her; that makes me happy. I am always greeted with a warm smile and hello. I love to attend their festivities when work permits. They really take the time to decorate, dress the residents(if theme-related), play music and dance. All residents and families are invited.

I think Proverbial Care is above average. They have some of the same issues any place is going to have (a lot of work to be done, and they could use extra people to get to it all). The office staff is great. I think the help staff tries hard but could be a little better. My loved one is happy with the food, and we're really happy with the facility itself.

I chose this facility for my friend because she would be close to me. The community feels like a home instead of being a clinical nursing home. The building is well maintained and not once has it ever have an odor. The staff is very nice and courteous. The only issue I’ve ever had is when my friend had her broken arm; the staff showered here and never put her sling back on. When I brought it to the management’s attention, it was fixed immediately. I would recommend this facility to other families.

It would be fine depending on the condition of the person to be cared for if they're bedridden if it is not a good place well it's a good place but if if your person needs skilled nursing it then it needs skilled nursing this is assisted living. I picked this community because it was closer to me.
