Both my parents are happy at Delta Retirement but my mom does a lot of my dad's care. They are short staffed at times and if my mom wasn't there I'm not sure if he would get the care he needs. Everyone there...

We're very pleased with how things have gone at Colonial Villa so far, I would give them high marks across the board! The staff seems very friendly, the facility itself is well kept and clean, and they have a lot to provide to their residents.

Pretty capable, did not see anyone unattended, more independent or so it seemed, Clean, nice rooms, a little expensive. Not like a nursing home. Only thing I did not like was that the pricing changed in a month.

We toured the center and was quite impressed with the facility. If we (my father) agrees to go to a home, this will be the place.

My mom use to live at this community and things went fine during her stay but it was not secure. Mom did not participate in activities but that was her choice. The meals were okay. I liked how easy it was to work with the staff but I am not sure if she was getting extra help.

We are working through some things, she's only been there a couple months and it takes time. I would still recommend the facility to others, though.

My family member lived at Colonial Villa for several years. The Dining Staff are the best!! They are compassionate & understand the elderly. The Chef is receptive to discussing dietary needs. The Maintenance Manager does a great job. Likewise, the current Laundry lady & the 2 Housekeeping ladies do a good job! My issue is with the Villa’s Care staff (i.e. Olivia Health). They over promise & under deliver. There is little consistency or attention to details. After a resident fell I was told by one CENA “the residents fall every day. It’s no big deal”. Not sure the resident would agree. They steal $ & destroy resident property. The lock boxes for meds don’t lock easily if at all. Would I recommend the Villa – yes!! – there are so many good things about it. Unfortunately for me the “Care” staff is not one of them.

I would only recommend Delta for its location - it's conveniently located to feel like a quiet community but near all the shopping and entertainment. I hope a friend never has to experience it, but if they do, consider working with A Place for Mom and taking advantage of all the tours before making a decision. We picked this community, because of the recommendation from the visiting nurse.

We learned about the fire from reading the news, btw - the facility waited almost a day and a half before communicating with families. So.... not a great experience, but I suppose they are doing the best with what they have? I should note that Meals/Dining started out at a 3. The cooks were so good about chopping up my dad's food so he could swallow it, very attentive to. Only visible to agents After the fire, they closed the dining room - residents had to eat in their rooms. It never really reopened because the facility had a hard time staying fully staffed

My parents have lived at delta retirement vented for almost two years. The enjoy the staff a great deal. I would say that they have several complaints about the food served. One large complaint is tuff meats. They say people can not even cut the meat often. They said people have complained but so far nothing has happened. It would be nice if delta realized that this population especially need meat cooked until tender and done.

Clean and simple. Older decor. Apartments are average in size. Manager on site was nice. Our overall impression was that the property was just average for the price and not what we want for our father.

My mother lived here for a few months. At first things were great, but after replacing the head chef the quality of food deteriorated rapidly. Special dietary needs were ignored and portion sizes became very small. Mother was told that she could opt out of meals and her rent would be reduced by $150....is that really all they budget for meals?? Particularly if you take into consideration the cost of kitchen and wait staff. Bus that took residents shopping was not handicap accessible so even those that could not climb the steps could not go. The friendly staff members (not management) were leaving quickly and newer ones were rude and inconsiderate. For the price we felt it was better if she moved back home - at least she still had that option!

Cold people work there, rude, uncaring. Would never, ever refer or place a family member at this "community". Community means (or should mean): 1. a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common. 2. a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals. My husband and I noticed this facility was lacking in both of these areas. Shoppers beware: Beauty is only skin deep in this place. The book you "read" is not filled with the content you may "see" on the cover.
