Completely Satisfied

My mother has been at The Summit for over a year now and my brothers and I have been extremely pleased with her care. The staff and owners always tell me how much they love my mother, relating little stories about her and what she says and does when I can't be there. The medical staff is top rate and extremely careful about medications and giving them to her when due. I never have to worry that she'd be alone if something happens to her, which it has. The staff is always by her side and quick to call me to advise me of what they've decided to do for her care. They have fun activities for my mother and gently encourage her to attend to keep her active and involved. There isn't any other place I could imagine my mother spending her last days in and I am so happy that we found The Summit at Sunland Springs. Update 7/7/2016: My mother passed peacefully at The Summit at Sunland Springs this past January. The staff was amazing with her and my family. They brought us food and drinks while we sat with her especially the last week while she was in a coma. They came in regularly to turn her, make her more comfortable and made sure they worked together with her hospice nurse to receive her medications on time. The owner, Craig Ahlstrom, told me when we discovered her ovarian cancer, that she could stay there and pass if we wished and we did. He attended her funeral along with another caregiver from The Summit. I couldn't have asked for a better place for my mother to pass.

BIG thumbs up!

Overall, the Paridot was excellent! BIG thumbs up! Almost everyone was very friendly, caring, understanding, courteous, and helpful. When my husband called for assistance of any sort, someone came in a timely fashion and, for the most part, was very willing to help. The place was very clean. The apartment my husband stayed in had a kitchen which was nice and clean also. The grounds are well maintained and there's a nice path around the facility. Their food was inconsistent from meal to meal - it was hard to know what you would be getting: one day "pasta with meat sauce" might have sauce with bits of beef, the next it might have meat balls, and the next have chicken. It depended, apparently, on which chef was in the kitchen and what they had on hand. In general, however, the pasta dishes were better options than many of the other choices. Some of the food was quite good but other times meals were pretty much inedible. The caregivers were very responsive to requests for assistance. When called for assistance it makes sense for them to not wait to be invited into a room (giving just a quick knock to let the person know they are there), but there were other times they would come to check on my husband or invite him to activities and enter the room without waiting to be invited. They would either knock and then walk in or sometimes not even knock at all. This happened once in the morning with a caretaker knocking and then walking in as my husband was still in bed. That was an irritation and invasion of privacy. Maybe they're not used to people who can hear knocks? The behavior here depended on the caregiver - some were always respectful of my husband's privacy even when busy, other were not as respectful. Other long term residents told my husband how they had tried several similar facilities through the years and that this was bar none the best of the ones they had tried. Even with the negative items listed above, I do want to stress that the most important things, the work of the caregivers and other staff, the quality of the room, and the overall level of care was all excellent. We'd definitely go back though! Highly recommend staying here for either respite care or long-term care.

A Great Place For Loved Ones To Live

My dad has been a resident for just over a year. He gets excellent care. They activities they provide is great. I put him in to make sure he had contact with others rather than just sitting home in a chair and sleeping all day. All the care workers are dedicated to the care of the residents. Everyone there has become part of my family. The food is great. I enjoy having some meals with my dad every week. The special events they put on are fantastic. You can tell all the hard work that went into the Hawaiian event and barbecues. The Thanksgiving dinner the other night was great. Other family members have told me the same. They checked out other places as I did. But I am glad I choose The Summit

Blossom Place is a great place for Mom OR Dad

I have found Blossom Place to be a very good fit for my Mom. She needs someone to start her for activities (she cannot register time and activity due to her massive stroke) and the personnel at Blossom Place are very accomodating. They assist her as needed with her bathing needs, medication and meals. She has been there for about six months now and I would recommend them highly.

Very nice place!

We're very pleased with Windriver Place so far. The facility itself is very nice, and well laid out for seniors. It is a smaller community and I like that is just a short walk from any of the bedrooms to the dining room or common areas. Those whole place has a warm, close-knit feel, and the residents receive a lot of hands-on care. The only downside I've seen is that they do not accept medicaid as a payment option, which may be a dealbreaker for some families.

Review of Meadows Place in Ellensburg, WA

A festive-looking dining room and genuinely friendly staff welcome you and the entire inside appears recently decorated and in natural shades. The one-room apts have at least 1 large window, space for basic amount of furniture, built-in closet and a kitchenette, fridge, microwave, storage space but no cooking facilities. 3 copious meals provided daily plus 1 time per week free laundry service and room cleaning. The bathroom has walk-in showers and helpful bars along walls. The staff not only caring but extremely helpful. Free transportation to appointments can be arranged and physical therapy is available in a neighboring bldg. I've found the place wonderfully relaxing and comfortable.

My family and I were highly impressed with the house when we first toured it. I love the level of knowledge, education, experience and most imprtantly compassion I saw from the staff. My mother is truly happy, though at first she did not like the idea. Now I can hardly keep her on the phone she stays so ACTIVE, yes ACTIVE and she loves it! HIGHLY suggest to just tour this place.

Brains & Compassion!

I was overly impressed with not only the knowledge, experience and education of the staff, but most importantly the compassion of the staff. They won me over when I toured the house for my mother. My mom is truly happy now. At first she was hesitant to move into an assisted living facility, but now shew loves it there. She stays so busy I hardly get my calls answered or responses to my emails. And yes, this is a GREAT thing. She is living again! Thank you, whole heartedly, to all the staff there.

A beautiful place

A beautiful and clean place. Activities seem to be varied and interesting, more than just bingo and crafts like we seemed to see at other places. Grandma was able to bring her dog, who is family to her, and enjoy her adult beverages. Staff was SO HELPFUL, communicated with us every step of the way and made a difficult time as smooth as possible.

Very nice place!

So far things have gone great at The Peridot! It's a very nice looking, clean community, and they've got a lot to provide for their residents. The people here, and everyone that we've worked with, have all been very friendly!

Very happy

I moved my husband into this facility just over a month ago and am very happy with the choice I made. The facility is clean and well taken care of by the maintenance staff. All of the staff is friendly and genuinely care about the welfare of the residents. Everyone is treated like family. It was becoming difficult to care for him at home due to the nature of the disease and I'm glad that I can now trust his care to these wonderful people and just be his wife again.

Great Start!

We moved Dad into The Peridot in Prescott, AZ just two days ago. So far, his experience has been great! The staff are all friendly and helpful. The place is clean and comfortable. The dining room is well lit, spacious, and the food is delicious. (I stayed for dinner last evening and it was very good.) Dad's apartment is large and well apportioned. He even has a large patio and storage unit. The costs are less than half the cost of the place he was in back in California, and less than the other places I checked out in this area. So far, very pleased.

Absolutely love their appro...

Absolutely love their approach to memory care with the 'Join Their Journey' program. It makes so much sense and seems so very compassionate. The facility is laid out sensibly for feeble, elderly folks suffering from dementia. The ratio of staff to residents is comparable to some of the other facilities we've visited with employees that have been working there a long time (that's good!).
