As Life Goes On

My dad is very happy, healthy, and is getting great care. They communicate and keep me aware of any issues. It's beautiful inside and out. All the staff are friendly, loving, gentle, kind people. This place is a gift from God!

What an amazing staff. The residents are well cared for. It has a “home-like” atmosphere not a facility atmosphere. [Name removed] and [Name removed] attended the calling hours after my mother recently passed away. We are so happy my Mom was able to stay there. [Name removed] was with my mom until the very end. She has a great sense of humor and a heart of gold.

This was THEE place for my mom. They are very caring with everyone. It’s a small center and my mother received outstanding care all the way til her recent passing. [Name removed] is the heart of facility. She went above and beyond the call of duty. She stayed with my mom through the night while she was in hospice care and was with her until my mom’s last breath. I can’t say enough about her and the staff (especially [name removed]). I am grateful to the staff and the other residents who my mother met.

My Mother has only been at Rosewood for a couple of weeks, but she is doing very well there. I love that the administrator is also the owner. She is hands on,very friendly and answers all of you questions and concerns. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Rosewood is clean warm and inviting. We are blessed to have found such a wounderful homey place for my Mother to live.

The staff is great and the facility is clean. Very homey atmosphere where the residents needs come first. Moving Mom here was a good decision.

I am very pleased with Pine Hill Retirement Home. My mom has fit right in and feels comfortable in a smaller place. She doesn't get lost in the crowd. They are very caring and really like her. And I no longer worry when I leave her alone for just a couple of hours. Pine Hill is perfect for her and we're both happier. We can now get back to being mother and daughter.

It is small and there really isn't much-organized activities such as arts and crafts. They do not provide transportation to appointment very readily and no shopping or ice cream excursions. No full-time nurses of past time even.

This care home was beautiful. The owner was very nice. The layout of this home and the room available would not have worked for dad's wheelchair. This is an old mansion that has been remodeled.

The community was cleaner than most that I had seen. They also had bright walls and nice paint. The only thing that did not work for my loved ones was that the community has dangerous steps. The residents almost need to have staff help them to get down the steps. If your loved one has mobility issues this would not be the place to go.

The caregivers I met during my tour were nice. This care home seemed clean. It was a little expensive. They offer transportation at a cost.

Rosewood is a very nice facility. The director is very helpful. Even during non business hours she is willing and able to help me with anything I ask. Very prompt in doing so as well. Gail is awesome!!!!

The only thing that I've noticed that I wish they would do differently is they don't wear uniforms or name tags and my dad has dementia so he gets confused about who is a resident and who is staff. I've brought that to their attention. At the very least I'd like them to wear name tags. Other than that, I really like them and I think they've done a great job. My dad really likes it there because it's not one of those fancy, corporate hotel type places. He likes the simplicity of the place and the way it reminds him of his own home. All the food is freshly cooked. It's very close knit and there are only 15 - 20 residents. Everyone seems happy there. We're glad we chose it and I think it was the right choice for my dad. They offered the best value for the money and we were impressed with how much the residents love living there.

I like it. Very reasonable, not as updated as a "new" assisted living facility, but my mom is not too sure about it. Still thinking about it, and will check references as soon as I can. Thanks for suggesting this one!

At first I felt like the value was okay. They're providing a safe place for her to live, she's taking her meds, she's fed. The building is fairly new, and there are only about 13 residents there. But the longer we're there, I feel like they should be better on top of things. I noticed that my loved one has gained a tremendous amount of weight in less than a year that she's been there. There doesn't seem to be any type of diet structure in the food they're providing. One night it's macaroni and cheese, and the next night it's lasagna. They're just feeding them without taking the care to provide healthy options. My loved one has a chronic health condition, and they don't seem concerned about how the weight gain is contributing to that. They haven't had any activities so far. She just sits in her room and does crochet or puzzles. That could be contributing to weight gain as well. The community is not encouraging the residents to get up and do anything. I brought it up to the head manager, and she told me that they're just so busy that they don't really have the time to engage with the residents like that.

The community only had one staff member at night for 16 residents. There were staffing issues due to the pandemic. They don't provide transportation to appointments, or stores. The community made promises and didn't follow through with these, and this is disappointing. I would recommend you check out all the communities to make sure that the personalities of the community and your loved one will mesh well.
