Colonial Gardens, Austin, TX, offers a home-like atmosphere that is relaxing and comforting. There is a large shady courtyard with winding trails appropriate for wheelchairs. Meals are served hot from the kitchen directly into a large dining room. Aides are young, strong, friendly and usually available. I would recommend Colonial Gardens in a heartbeat .

They do a wonderful job here! The staff here are caring, compassionate, and patient. My loved one can be quite a handful, and they do a great job working with him to make sure he is safe and comfortable. You can tell the staff genuinely care about him, and looking out for him isn't just a job.

We are very happy with Colonial Gardens! It's a very loving place and it really feels like a family. The employees are exceptional! They are so caring! It always seems very clean to me. They also always seem to have things going on. They just recently had a St. Patrick's Day family get-together, so that was very nice!

They're very involved with the patients here! The staff all seem very well trained, and they do a great job at making sure everyone gets some individual attention. Everyone, from the director to the residents themselves, are very friendly. The facility itself is very nice looking, and they always keep it impeccably clean!

This is a nice smaller facility, and I really like the atmosphere here. It's a small residential place, they've got 2 or 3 caregivers that look after about 7 women (I believe they are licensed for up to 14). It has a nice homey atmosphere, and I like that when you come to visit it really does just feel like you are visiting someone at home. You sit around the kitchen table and talk, or watch TV with them in the living room, things like that.

This is a very nice place. my Mom has a very lovely 2 room apartment and she is happy with it, and with the people. The staff are all friendly, and they're very responsive to her physical and care needs. They're very accommodating when it comes to family interactions as well! We had her birthday celebration here recently, and they were wonderful about getting the food we requested and having a space available for us to celebrate. And the food was very good! I've only had one issue with them so far, and that was that after Mom suffered a fall they did not have information on hand about which hospital she should go to. My brother was first on the contact list and they were unable to reach him, but never tried me. Eventually Mom called me and I was able to give them the info, but I felt it was something they should have had on hand in the first place.

The cleanliness is excellent, the staff is very good, very good. It was about the same as what we had looked in to, it had been a little less than a couple but overall I would say it's close to the norm. They do a good job, they have activities, our resident doesn't participate very well but they work hard to get them engaged. Actually, my daughter, son and his wife did most of the investigation and they were pretty well convinced when they walked in that this was the place. I put my final approval on it. I just liked the set up and the facility was good-they have 2 facilities and its divided upso there's not too many people in one-, their staff was good, their meal planning seemed to be good, generally it was jsut a good feeling I had about the place and that feeling's still there.

They are wonderful. They have lots of activities and things to do. They have a monthly community party that is themed. This month the party was a luau theme and it was a really good time. The staff is very caring and you can tell the residents really respond to their care. They really just know what they are doing. The community itself is very beautiful and pretty. A private room cost about $4,800 a month. The rooms are spacious enough for our loved one.

The size and layout of Colonial Gardens is very home like. The individual rooms give each their own space. The backyard is very inviting to look at during meals and to use all day long. The staff couldn't be better. Activities abound for those who wish to participate. I toured many places before I placed my Mother there. She was very happy there. I was pleased with the choice and would place another there if needed.

The care seems to be great. My mom has been there for 3 weeks and when I go she's dressed, she's clean, she's been fed and her bed is made. She's being well taken care of - much more than I could do my myself and that's what I was looking for. My mom is mourning the loss of her spouse so she is not showing any interest in the activites right now but when I go there are other ladies doing activities like puzzles, bingo, and cross stitching. The staff seems very caring and very understaning of the level of ability of the residents. It's very clean - you could eat off the floor over there!

This was a very beautiful facility. Offered care I'm looking for, but still not in the area I'd like. Cost is above my budget.

My mother has lived in this community for 5-6 weeks now. The caretakers have done a very nice job of caring for her and making her feel at home. She has stage 6 Alzheimer's and her former facility couldn't seem to deal with the symptoms of her disease as well as the staff at Colonial Gardens does. They are able to redirect and keep her safe and happy. I believe she enjoys the routine they keep.

I have visited this community many times. It feels so comfortable, warm and inviting. Staff are courteous and happy. Very clean smelling. They have take good care of my parents , this is a great relief to me. Residents are happy. Good activities going on, staff are caring and show love to their residents. They do a good job!

We chose Ventura Hills because they were able to provide us with the exact number we would be paying, the overall appearance of the facility (it is in a very pretty area), it is a smaller community so 1 on 1 care is better, they really treat them like family here. The room sizes here are bigger than what she came from and it is adequate for her needs. The best part about the community so far has been the location, it is very close to us and it is just such a pleasing environment. All of the residents seem very happy here and we are impressed with Ventura Hills. It is also such a safe place for my mom during COVID because I see how they do everything and I do not have to worry.

Colonial Gardens is a professional facility and what I especially like is the “family-like atmosphere.” The decision to move her into a nursing home was a difficult one to make. We worried that her health would decline due to removing her from her longtime home. Little did we know at the time, but this move would be a blessing to her. We also know that sometimes we may not show our appreciation as effectively as we might. However, I would like to offer special appreciation and thanks to Leila, Laura, Brian for their exceptional dedication, outstanding professional performance and exceeding above and beyond the call of duty. [Name removed] for extending their dedication and compassion, as well as building staff, too numerous to mention, who all play such an important part in my mother’s comfort, care, and well-being. Many thanks to Ida and the kitchen staff for providing delicious meals and keeping the kitchen immaculate. All your efforts are appreciated. This community has been a good fit for my mom. She is really adapting and everyone has been very friendly and helpful. I picked this community because the price was in our ball park and more great reasons. I had a chance to talk with the residents and they liked the place and they felt they got the attention they needed from staff. The chef is great. She gives an amazing menu daily with great variety to pick from. I also like how the assistant activities director always invites my mom to activities that are happening and my mom loves some specific games.

The staff is knowledgeable and friendly with a excellent staff to resident ratio. The facility is kept clean and the rooms are very nice. I had visited several other facilities and colonial gardens was the best of them all.

Jeremy Fontenot is outstanding at guiding families through the process of touring, checking in and moving into their apartments. Jeremy and his staff worked diligently to get my aunt transferred from another facility and settled in--even on a Saturday when most weekday staff is not there. My aunt is happy and secure in a very welcoming environment. I would readily recommend Brookdale Castle Hills to anyone!
